Hymn to Devī Yogānidrā and the Manifestation of Caṇḍikā
devyuvāca | aho sumahadāścaryaṃ vedavaktāpi viśvakṛt | mahājñānaparo bhūtvā vidhātā kiṃ vadatyayam
Sati (the Goddess/Devi)
Tattva Level: pati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: teaching
It highlights that even Brahmā, though Veda-knowing and cosmic creator, can speak from limited understanding; the Goddess’ astonishment points toward Shiva-tattva as the supreme, beyond mere intellectual or scriptural authority.
By questioning Brahmā’s statement, the verse prepares the listener to turn from secondary cosmic roles to the direct refuge of Shiva—often approached devotionally through Saguna forms like the Linga, where grace (anugraha) surpasses conceptual debate.
Cultivate humility before Shiva-tattva: recite the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with devotion, and contemplate that scriptural learning becomes fruitful when joined to Shiva-bhakti and surrender.
