विष्णोर्दर्शनं स्तुतिश्च
Viṣṇu’s Manifestation and Brahmā’s Hymn
अस्तवं च शुभस्तोत्रैर्दीनवाक्यसमन्वितैः । तच्छ्रुत्वा भगवानाशु बभूवाविर्हि मे पुरा
astavaṃ ca śubhastotrairdīnavākyasamanvitaiḥ | tacchrutvā bhagavānāśu babhūvāvirhi me purā
彼女は吉祥なる讃歌をもって御方を讃え、へりくだり嘆願する言葉を添えた。それを聞くや、福徳具足の主はたちまち顕現した—かつてもそのようであったと、私は語り伝える。
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights Śiva as Pati (the gracious Lord) who responds to sincere bhakti—when praise is offered with humility, divine grace quickly removes distance and makes the Lord ‘manifest’ to the devotee.
It supports Saguna-upāsanā: through stotra and heartfelt words, the devotee relates to Śiva in a personal, accessible form—just as the Liṅga and other worship-forms make the transcendent Lord approachable through devotion.
Stotra-japa with dainya (humble surrender) is implied—reciting Śiva hymns alongside the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” with a prayerful attitude, is the practical takeaway.
