tvanmukhāṃbhojasaṃvṛttāṃ śrutvā śivakathāṃ parām | atṛpto hi punastāṃ vai śrotumicchāmyahaṃ prabho
主よ、あなたの蓮華のごとき御口より流れ出る至高のシヴァの聖なる物語を拝聴しても、なお私は満ち足りません。まことに、その同じ御物語を再びお聞かせ願いたいのです、 प्रभो。
Nārada (requesting to hear Śiva-kathā again from Brahmā)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Significance: Śiva-kathā-śravaṇa is framed as an upāya for pāśa-kṣaya: repeated hearing ripens bhakti and prepares the paśu for Śiva’s anugraha (grace).
Type: stotra
It teaches that Śiva-kathā is intrinsically purifying and inexhaustible; true devotion (bhakti) expresses itself as continual śravaṇa—hearing again and again—because the heart is never “finished” with the Lord’s glory and grace.
Repeated hearing of Śiva’s līlā and attributes nurtures saguna-bhakti, which naturally ripens into steady worship—often centered on the Śiva-liṅga—where the devotee’s mind becomes absorbed in the Lord’s compassionate, accessible form.
A practical takeaway is daily śravaṇa/manana: listen to or recite Śiva Purāṇa passages, then contemplate them; this can be paired with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to stabilize devotion.
