पार्वतीजन्मवर्णनम् / Description of Pārvatī’s Birth
दिव्यरूपं धृतं मेद्य यत्ते मत्स्मरणं भवेत् । अन्यथा मर्त्यभावेन तवाज्ञानं भवेन्मयि
divyarūpaṃ dhṛtaṃ medya yatte matsmaraṇaṃ bhavet | anyathā martyabhāvena tavājñānaṃ bhavenmayi
我は汝のうちに我を憶念する心が起こるよう、この清浄なる神聖の姿を取った。さもなくば、ただ人間的な見方によって、汝の中に我に関する無明が生じよう。
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
The verse teaches that Shiva’s compassionate manifestation (saguṇa form) is meant to awaken steady remembrance (smaraṇa) in the devotee; without this, a merely worldly, mortal viewpoint produces ajñāna—failure to recognize Shiva’s true divinity and grace.
It supports saguṇa-upāsanā: Shiva provides a perceivable divine form (including the Śivaliṅga as an accessible embodiment) so devotion and remembrance can mature; through that practice, the devotee is led beyond mortal limitation toward the higher realization of Shiva.
Practice daily smaraṇa of Shiva—mentally dwelling on His divine form while repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya); this counters the ‘mortal outlook’ and stabilizes devotion, especially in Mahāśivarātri vrata and japa.
