Sūta Gosvāmin
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga episode; it narrates the immediate prelude to Pārvatī’s birth—Menā in the maternity chamber, attended by physicians, with a simile likening the scene to the support of heaven.
Significance: Auspicious listening/recitation for safe childbirth and household welfare is a common Purāṇic reception, though not stated here as a formal phalaśruti.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: creative
It portrays Śakti’s descent into the world in an orderly, dharmic way—showing that the divine (Pati-Śakti) works through natural means while remaining transcendent, preparing the cosmic purpose of Śiva–Pārvatī līlā for the uplift of beings.
Pārvatī’s impending birth is the arrival of Śiva’s Saguna-Śakti in the narrative; devotion to the Liṅga and to Śiva with attributes is strengthened when Śakti manifests to complete Śiva’s household līlā and guide devotees toward grace (anugraha).
The verse suggests reverence for dharmic living and sanctifying life-events; a practical takeaway is to remember Śiva with the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and maintain purity and prayerful steadiness during transitions, seeking Śiva’s protection and Śakti’s grace.
