ついでシァイラ(山王)は歓喜し、自らの家司祭とともに、その最勝の御方を、足洗いの水に始まる供物と、衣・白檀の塗香・装身具とによって敬い奉った。
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Offering: pushpa
It highlights bhakti expressed through reverent reception (satkāra): honoring the divine or saintly with humility and pure offerings, which in Shaiva thought invites Śiva’s anugraha (grace).
The items named—pādya, garments, sandal paste, ornaments—mirror standard upacāras used in Saguna worship and in Liṅga-pūjā, showing that devotion is concretized through ritual service.
Practice upacāra-pūjā: offer pādya (or arghya), apply candana, and dedicate a simple offering with mantra-japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) in a spirit of hospitality and surrender.
