Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: The verse recalls Satī’s marriage to Śiva, a narrative seed that later culminates in Dakṣa’s yajña, Vīrabhadra’s manifestation, and the re-establishment of Śiva’s cosmic sovereignty over ritual.
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: nurturing
The verse highlights Pati (Śiva) as the supreme Lord whom the devoted soul turns toward; Satī’s choosing of Śiva signifies bhakti and the soul’s destined movement toward divine grace, where union with the Lord becomes spiritually transformative and exemplary.
By naming Śiva as Vṛṣabhavāhana (the bull-mounted Lord), the verse points to Saguna Shiva—worshipped through sacred forms such as the Liṅga—where devotion is directed to the personal Lord whose presence can be approached through ritual and contemplation.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate steadfast devotion to Śiva through japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and reverent Liṅga-pūjā, aligning one’s intention with divine will (daiva) and purity of conduct (sādhvī-bhāva).
