It declares Skanda as a manifestation of supreme lordship who protects devotees; in Shaiva Siddhanta terms, liberation is secured by the Lord’s grace when one takes refuge (śaraṇa) with sincere devotion.
By praising Skanda as Paramātman and “Lord of those seeking refuge,” the verse supports Saguna worship—approaching the divine through a gracious, personal form—just as Linga-worship is a concrete focus for surrender to Shiva’s saving power.
The practical takeaway is śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): worship with devotion, repeat Shiva’s Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and cultivate inward surrender, seeking the Lord’s grace as the true giver of realization.
