The verse shows the devas honoring a divinely empowered being with symbols of sovereignty and protection, implying that spiritual authority and success arise by grace and right alignment with Shiva’s cosmic order (Pati), not merely by personal power.
In the Shiva Purana’s devotional frame, such gifts reflect Saguna Shiva’s governance of the universe through His divine functionaries; honoring Shiva through Linga-worship harmonizes one’s life with that order, drawing protection, auspiciousness, and steadiness.
A practical takeaway is to offer respectful upacāras (umbrella, garlands, ornaments) in Shiva-pūjā, while meditating with the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating humility and receptivity to divine grace.
