Narration of Kārttikeya’s Divine Play
दिनेदिने ताः पुपुषुर्बालकं तं महाप्रभुम् । प्रसंसितानि स्वादूनि भोजयित्वा विशेषतः
dinedine tāḥ pupuṣurbālakaṃ taṃ mahāprabhum | prasaṃsitāni svādūni bhojayitvā viśeṣataḥ
日ごとに彼女らは、まことは大いなる主であるその幼子を愛をもって養い、とりわけ賞賛される甘美な食を食べさせた。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that sincere loving service (seva) offered in simple forms—like feeding and caring—reaches the Supreme Lord, who may appear in an accessible, saguna form to receive devotion.
Just as the Linga allows devotees to worship Shiva in a tangible form, this verse shows the same principle of saguna upasana: the Lord accepts concrete acts of devotion, even when appearing as a child.
It suggests bhakti expressed through anna-dana and naivedya (reverently offering food), performed with remembrance of Shiva and a pure intention—treating service itself as worship.
