The verse highlights a Shaiva virtue: dharmic speech offered with humility. Gaṇeśa honors his parents as embodiments of dharma and asks them to listen, teaching that righteous counsel should be grounded in reverence and discernment—qualities that purify the pashu (bound soul) and align one toward Pati (Shiva).
While not naming the Liṅga directly, it supports Saguna Shiva worship by emphasizing dharma and proper conduct as the foundation for effective devotion. In Shaiva practice, outer worship (pūjā of the Liṅga) becomes fruitful when accompanied by inner discipline—truthful, dharmic intention and respectful listening.
A practical takeaway is “śravaṇa” (reverent listening) and “samyak-vāk” (disciplined speech) before japa or pūjā. Begin worship with a calm mind, offer salutations, and then perform mantra-japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with the intention to act according to dharma.
