おお大賢者よ、そのうちの一柱は最も恐るべき姿を取り、揺るがず立った。身は青黒き山のごとく暗く、口の洞穴を大きく広げた。

The verse highlights how divine power can assume awe-inspiring, fear-dissolving forms to subdue adharma; for a devotee, it teaches surrender to Śiva’s governance where even terror becomes a vehicle for protection and purification of the mind.
While the Liṅga points to Śiva’s transcendent (nirguṇa) reality, the narrative shows saguna expressions—visible, powerful forms that act in the world—affirming that Liṅga-worship culminates in trusting Śiva’s immanent protection and grace during inner and outer संघर्ष (conflict).
Contemplate fearlessness (abhaya) by mentally offering fear into Śiva’s presence, and steady the mind with japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a practical takeaway aligned with Rudra-oriented devotion.
