गणेश-वाक्यं तथा गणानां समर-सन्नाहः | Gaṇeśa’s Challenge and the Mustering of the Gaṇas
ते सर्वे च यथायोग्यं गतास्ते सर्वतो दिशम् । तं गणं हंतुकामा हि शिवाज्ञाता उदायुधाः
te sarve ca yathāyogyaṃ gatāste sarvato diśam | taṃ gaṇaṃ haṃtukāmā hi śivājñātā udāyudhāḥ
そのとき彼らは皆、ふさわしくも四方八方へと出立した――武器を携え、シヴァの命に従って動き――まことにそのガナを討たんと欲した。
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
It highlights the power of Śiva’s ājñā (divine command): when beings act aligned with the Lord’s will, their movement becomes “yathāyogya”—proper and dharmic—whereas opposition to Śiva’s order leads toward conflict and downfall.
Saguna Śiva is the Lord who commands, protects, and governs through His gaṇas. Devotion to the Liṅga is devotion to that sovereign Pati; the verse underscores surrender (śaraṇāgati) to Śiva’s will rather than ego-driven aggression against His attendants.
The practical takeaway is discipline and alignment with Śiva through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and wearing/using Rudrākṣa with a calm, non-hostile mind—transforming “hantukāmatā” (violent intent) into inner conquest of anger and pride.
