गणेशोत्पत्ति-प्रसङ्गः / Episode on the Origin of Gaṇeśa (Śvetakalpa Account)
तं दृष्ट्वा तु शिवः प्राह कं निषेधसि मूढधीः । मां न जानास्यसद्बुद्धे शिवोहमिति नान्यथा
taṃ dṛṣṭvā tu śivaḥ prāha kaṃ niṣedhasi mūḍhadhīḥ | māṃ na jānāsyasadbuddhe śivohamiti nānyathā
彼を見ると、主シヴァは言われた。「おお迷妄の心よ、誰を禁ずるというのか。汝は我を知らぬ、誤れる理解の者よ。我こそシヴァである――これぞ真実、他ならぬ。」
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Mantra: śivo’ham iti nānyathā
It confronts spiritual ignorance (moha) directly: the soul’s bondage is rooted in not recognizing the Lord. Shiva’s declaration points to right knowledge and surrender as the doorway to liberation.
The verse supports Saguna devotion by affirming Shiva’s personal, self-revealing lordship. In Linga worship, the devotee moves from outward reverence to inner recognition that Shiva alone is the supreme Pati worthy of worship.
A practical takeaway is japa with the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to purify wrong understanding, combined with steady dhyāna on Shiva as the one Lord, so opposition and doubt are replaced by devotion and clarity.
