एवेदिन्द्रः सुहव ऋष्वो अस्तूती अनूती हिरिशिप्रः सत्वा । एवा हि जातो असमात्योजाः पुरू च वृत्रा हनति नि दस्यून् ॥
Transliteration
evéd índraḥ suháva ṛ́ṣvo astū́tī anū́tī hiriśipráḥ sátvā | evā́ hí jā́to asamāti-ojā́ḥ purū́ ca vṛtrā́ hanati ní dasyū́n ||
Translation
まことにこのように、インドラは善く呼び招かれる者、崇高なる者として在れ——われらの助け、重ね重ねの助けとして——黄褐の髭をもつ者、強き存在として。かくして彼は、生まれながらに征服されぬ力を備え、多くのヴリトラ（Vṛtra、障碍者）を討ち、ダシュユ（Dasyu、闇の勢力）を打ち伏せる。
