एवा हि मां तवसं जज्ञुरुग्रं कर्मन्कर्मन्वृषणमिन्द्र देवाः । वधीं वृत्रं वज्रेण मन्दसानोऽप व्रजं महिना दाशुषे वम् ॥

evā́ hí māṃ tavásaṃ jajñúr ugráṃ kárman-karman vṛ́ṣaṇam indra devā́ḥ | vadhī́ṃ vṛtráṃ vájreṇa mandasā́nó 'pá vrajáṃ mahinā́ dāśúṣe vam ||

まことに神々は我を、強く猛き者として生みたまえり。あらゆる行為において力の牡牛なる者よ、インドラよ。歓喜のうちに我は金剛杵もてヴリトラを撃ち倒し、我が威力により施与する者のために牛囲い(ヴラジャ)を開き放てり。
