進め、リブ（R̥bhu）らの子らよ。働き手たちよ、その大いなる業を広げよ。万有を支える汝らは、大地（Kṣāmā）の養いを母牛のごとく吸い——そこより保ちの豊穣を汲み取れ。

प्र देवं देव्या धिया भरता जातवेदसम् । हव्या नो वक्षदानुषक् ॥
神聖なる思念（dhī）をもって、その神を前へと捧げ持て——ジャータヴェーダス（Jātavedas）、あらゆる生起を知る者を。願わくは彼が我らの供物（havyā）を担い、しかるべき順に運び給え。

अयमु ष्य प्र देवयुर्होता यज्ञाय नीयते । रथो न योरभीवृतो घृणीवाञ्चेतति त्मना ॥
この者こそ――神を求める祭官ホートリ（Hotṛ）――祭儀のために前へと導かれる。道に沿って堅く囲い護られた戦車のように、熱光に輝きつつ、彼は自らの内なる覚知によって進み、意識ある力として祭式を導く。

अयमग्निरुरुष्यत्यमृतादिव जन्मनः । सहसश्चित्सहीयान्देवो जीवातवे कृतः ॥
このアグニ（Agni）は、まるで不死（amṛta）から生まれたかのように、われらの存在を広げ、守り支える。力よりもなお強きこの神は、われらの内に形づくられ、われらがまことに生きるため――より大いなる生命において――そう成された。
