युद्धे अङ्गद-मैन्द-द्विविद-राक्षसयुद्धम्; कुम्भस्य प्रादुर्भावः तथा सुग्रीवेण पराभवः
Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva
ततःकुम्भस्तुसुग्रीवंबाहुभ्यांजगृहेतदा ।गजाविवाहितमदौनिश्श्वसन्तौमुहुर्मुहु 76.81।।अन्योन्यगात्रग्रथितौकर्षन्तावितरेतरम् ।सधूमांमुखतोज्वालांविसृजन्तौपरिश्रमात् ।।6.76.82।।
tataḥ kumbhas tu sugrīvaṃ bāhubhyāṃ jagṛhe tadā | gajāvivāhitamadau niśśvasantau muhur muhuḥ | anyonyagātragrathitau karṣantāv itaretaram | sadhūmāṃ mukhato jvālāṃ visṛjantau pariśramāt ||
そのときクンバは両腕でスグリーヴァを抱え込んだ。まるで発情に狂う二頭の象のように、互いの肢体を絡めて組み合い、幾度も幾度も引きずり合い、荒く息をついた。疲労のあまり、口からは煙をまとった炎を吐き出すかのようであった。
Thereafter Kumbha held Sugriva's shoulders. They were like two intoxicated elephants holding one another's limbs and rubbing each other and breathing heavily. In exertion they let out from their face fire mixed with smoke.
