कुम्भकर्णवधः
The Slaying of Kumbhakarna
कुम्भकर्णशिरोभातिकुण्डलालङ्कृतंमहत् ।आदित्येऽभ्युदितेरात्रौमध्यस्थइवचन्द्रमाः ।।।।
kumbhakarṇaśiro bhāti kuṇḍalālaṅkṛtaṃ mahat | āditye'bhyudite rātrau madhyastha iva candramāḥ ||
耳飾りに飾られたクンバカルナの巨大な首は、アディティに司られる星宿が昇る夜、天空のただ中にある月のように輝いた。
The huge head of Kumbhakarna adorned with earrings was like the moon rising between the stars in the heaven at night presided by Aditi, the mother of twin gods.
It is compared to the moon shining in the middle of the night sky when the constellation Punarvasu (associated with Aditi) has risen.
The verse mentions 'Kundala' (earrings), highlighting that even in death, his royal adornments remained visible.
