Kumbhakarna’s Departure for Battle
इन्द्राशनिसमंभीमंवज्रप्रतिमगौरवम् ।देवदानवगन्धर्वयक्षपन्नगसूदनम् ।।6.65.19 ।।रक्तमाल्यंमहाधामंस्वतश्चोद्गतपावकम् ।आदायनिशितंशूलंशत्रुशोणितरञ्जितम् ।।6.65.20।।कुम्भकर्णोमहातेजारावणंवाक्यमब्रवीत् ।
indrāśanisamaṃ bhīmaṃ vajrapratimagauravam |
devadānavagandharvayakṣapannagasūdanam ||
raktamālyaṃ mahādhāmaṃ svataś codgatapāvakam |
ādāya niśitaṃ śūlaṃ śatruśoṇitarañjitam ||
kumbhakarṇo mahātejā rāvaṇaṃ vākyam abravīt ||
その鋭きシュ―ラを振るい――インドラの雷霆のごとく恐ろしく、金剛杵のごとく重く、デーヴァ・ダーナヴァ・ガンダルヴァ・ヤクシャ、そして蛇族をも滅するもの。燃え立ち、赤き花鬘をまとい、敵の血に赤く染まって――大力のクンバカルナはラーヴァナに語った。
"You know me. I will get rid of your enmity killing the cruel minded Rama. Be fearless and happy now."
The repetition underscores the epic theme that spectacular power can seduce the mind; Dharma requires truth-guided judgment rather than being carried away by might.
This is a repeated/overlapping description in the Southern Recension, again introducing Kumbhakarṇa’s armed readiness before his speech.
Overwhelming strength and fearlessness are emphasized.
