Suka and Sāraṇa’s Espionage and Release
संस्थितंपर्वताग्रेषुनिर्दरेषुगुहासुच ।समुद्रस्यचतीरेषुवनेषूपवनेषुच ।।6.25.11।।तरमाणंचतीर्णंचतर्तुकामंचसर्वशः ।निविष्टंनिविश्चैवभीमनादंमहाबलम् ।।6.25.12।।तद्बलार्णवमक्षोभ्यंददृशातेनिशाचरौ ।
saṃsthitaṃ parvatāgreṣu nirdareṣu guhāsu ca | samudrasya ca tīreṣu vaneṣūpavaneṣu ca ||
taramāṇaṃ ca tīrṇaṃ ca tartukāmaṃ ca sarvaśaḥ | niviṣṭaṃ niviś caiva bhīmanādaṃ mahābalam ||
tad-balārṇavam akṣobhyaṃ dadṛśāte niśācarau ||
山の峰々に、険しい谷や洞窟に、海の岸辺に、森と林苑に――軍勢は遍く布陣していた。渡りつつある者、すでに渡り終えた者、あらゆる方角で渡ろうと備える者。座して陣を定める者、さらに陣を敷く者、恐るべき咆哮を轟かせる大いなる力の軍勢――揺るがぬ力の大海を、二人の羅刹の密偵は目の当たりにした。
The ocean of army settled on the mountain summits, in caverns and caves, on the shores of the ocean, in the forests and adjoining gardens some who crossed the sea some in the process of crossing settled all over was witnessed by the Rakshasas. It was never ending and making terrific noise.
