iti bruvāṇaṃ rāmas tu pariṣvajya vibhīṣaṇam | abravīl lakṣmaṇaṃ prītaḥ samudrāj jalam ānaya ||6.19.24||
ヴィビーシャナがこう語ると、ラーマは喜びて彼を抱きしめ、ラクシュマナに言った。「海より水を持ち来たれ。」
When Vibheeshana had spoken in that manner, Rama was pleased and embraced him. He called for Lakshmana to get water from the ocean (for consecration).
Rāma’s dharma is to honor and protect one who seeks refuge sincerely, confirming acceptance through action and ritual preparation.
Rāma signals formal acceptance of Vibhīṣaṇa and initiates preparations (water from the ocean) for consecratory rites.
Rāma’s compassion and kingly propriety—recognizing merit and establishing rightful order.
