विभीषणागमनम्
Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
अज्ञातंनास्तितेकिंचित्त्रिषुलोकेषुराघव: ।आत्मानंसूचयन्राम: पृच्छस्यस्मान् सुहृत्तया ।।6.17.35।।
ajñātaṁ nāsti te kiṁcit triṣu lokeṣu rāghava |
āt mānaṁ sūcayan rāmaḥ pṛcchasy asmān suhṛttayā ||6.17.35||
「ラグハヴァよ、三界においてあなたに知らぬものは何もない。それでも友情ゆえに我らに問い、我らを尊び、意見を引き出してくださる。」
"O Raghava! there is nothing unknown to you in the three worlds. You are asking our opinion (giving us the honour) out of friendship."
True leadership (dharma) includes humility and relational ethics: seeking others’ words fosters truth-oriented decisions and strengthens bonds of trust.
The advisers respond to Rāma’s request for counsel, praising his omniscience-like insight while noting he consults them out of friendship.
Rāma’s humility and respect for allies—he consults even when he is capable of deciding alone.
