Sita’s Recognition and Reassurance by the Envoy
kṣipraṃ drakṣyasi vaidehi rāmaṃ prasravaṇe girau | śatakratum ivāsīnaṃ nāgarājasya mūrdhani ||
"O Vaidehi, you will soon see Rama seated on the Prasravana mountain just as Indra (who performed a hundred sacrifices) seated on the back of the king of elephants.
Dharma is linked with rightful sovereignty and protection: the comparison to Indra frames Rāma as a legitimate, dharmic ruler whose power is meant to uphold order and rescue the oppressed.
Hanumān paints a vivid image of Rāma’s impending arrival and majesty to strengthen Sītā’s confidence in imminent rescue.
Rāma’s kingly authority exercised for righteous ends.
