रामसंवादः — Parashurama Confronts Rama with the Vaishnava Bow
क्षत्ररोषात्प्रशान्तस्त्वं ब्राह्मणश्च महायशा:।बालानां मम पुत्राणामभयं दातुमर्हसि।।।।
kṣatraroṣāt praśāntas tvaṃ brāhmaṇaś ca mahāyaśāḥ | bālānāṃ mama putrāṇām abhayaṃ dātum arhasi ||
汝は名高きブラーフマナにして、クシャトリヤへの怒りも鎮まった。ゆえに我が幼き子らに無畏—安全の保証—を与え給え。
"You are a brahmana, highly renowned and withdrawn from anger against kshatriyas. It behoves of you to give assurance of security to my sons who are young.
Abhaya-dāna (granting safety) is a dharmic ideal: the strong and spiritually eminent should protect, not terrorize—especially the young and vulnerable.
Daśaratha appeals to Paraśurāma’s brahminical restraint, asking him not to harm his sons.
Daśaratha’s paternal duty and Paraśurāma’s expected self-restraint as a brāhmaṇa.
