Trishanku’s Bodily Ascent and the New Constellations
अयं कुशिकदायादो मुनि: परमकोपन:।।।।यदाह वचनं सम्यगेतत्कार्यं न संशय:।अग्निकल्पो हि भगवान् शापं दास्यति रोषित:।।।।
ayaṃ kuśikadāyādo muniḥ paramakopanaḥ || yad āha vacanaṃ samyag etat kāryaṃ na saṃśayaḥ | agnikalpo hi bhagavān śāpaṃ dāsyati roṣitaḥ ||
「この聖仙はクシカの末裔にして、きわめて怒りやすい。彼が正しく宣した言葉は、寸分違わず実行されねばならぬ。疑いはない。尊き御方は火のごとく、怒らせれば必ずや呪詛を下される。」
"Born in the line of Kusika, this sage is extremely choleric-tempered. Whatever he says must be properly carried out. There should be no resitation on this score. The venerable sage is like fire. He will curse us if angered.
The verse teaches accountability to spoken commitment and the seriousness of spiritual speech: words backed by tapas carry consequences, so dharma requires careful, truthful, and respectful conduct.
The sages counsel the assembly to comply with Viśvāmitra’s directive, emphasizing his formidable ascetic power and the danger of provoking a curse.
