devadeve gate tasmin so 'ṅguṣṭhāgranipīḍitām |

kṛtvā vasumatīṃ rāma saṃvatsaram upāsata || 1.43.1 ||

Translation

ラーマよ、神々の神が去ったのち、バギーラタは大いなる足の親指の先で大地を押さえ、揺るがぬ禅定のうちに一年の苦行を修した。
