The Descent of Sagara’s Sons and the Wrath of Kapila
तत: प्रदक्षिणं कृत्वा सगरस्य महात्मन:।।।।षष्टि: पुत्रसहस्राणि पश्चिमां बिभिदुर्दिशम्।
tataḥ pradakṣiṇaṃ kṛtvā sagarasya mahātmanaḥ |
ṣaṣṭiḥ putra-sahasrāṇi paścimāṃ bibhidur diśam ||
その後、偉大なるサガラの六万の子らは、敬虔に右繞(プラダクシナー)を行ってから、西の方角を突き破って進んだ。
Thereafter, illustrious Sagara's sixty thousand sons, having circumabulated the elephant of the western region dug up that region.
Dharma is shown through ritual propriety: before proceeding, they perform pradakṣiṇā, indicating that action should be framed by respect and right conduct.
Sagara’s sons continue their directional excavation, moving onward toward the western region after honoring the relevant guardian presence.
Discipline in action: they combine determination with observance of respectful custom.
