प्रसङ्गः / Genealogy of the Kuśika Line and the Kausikī River
उत्तिष्ठति च शीतांशुश्शशी लोकतमोनुद:।ह्लादयन् प्राणिनां लोके मनांसि प्रभया विभो।।।।
uttiṣṭhati ca śītāṃśuḥ śaśī loka-tamo-nudaḥ |
hlādayan prāṇināṃ loke manāṃsi prabhayā vibho ||
そして冷ややかな光を放つ月が昇り、世の闇を払いのけた。ああ偉大なる者よ、その輝きによって生きとし生けるものの心は歓びに満たされた。
All nocturnal creatures groups of yakshas and rakshasas and dreadful eaters of human flesh are moving here and there".
Light dispelling darkness functions as an ethical metaphor: satya and dharma illuminate and calm the world, just as moonlight comforts living beings.
A nocturnal description continues: the moon rises and brightens the landscape as the group settles into the night.
Indirectly, the ideal of being “darkness-dispelling” aligns with the Ramayana’s model of righteous leadership: bringing clarity, safety, and solace.
