Alarm at Chitrakūṭa: Lakṣmaṇa sights the approaching army
उदङ्मुखः प्रेक्षमाणो ददर्श महतीं चमूम्।रथाश्वगजसम्बाधां यत्तैर्युक्तां पदातिभिः।।2.96.12।।
udaṅmukhaḥ prekṣamāṇo dadarśa mahatīṃ camūm |
rathāśvagajasambādhāṃ yattair yuktāṃ padātibhiḥ ||2.96.12||
北に面して注意深く見やると、彼は大軍を見た。戦車・馬・象がひしめき、武装した歩兵がこれに伴っていた。
He (Lakshmana) informed Rama about the army full of horses and elephants and decorated with chariot-banners and said these words:
