FAQs

The verse frames death as a moral boundary that cannot be negotiated by love; it highlights human attachment and the longing to fulfill familial togetherness even at the edge of mortality.

In denial and anguish, the father begs the dead son not to depart for Yama’s realm and imagines a ‘tomorrow’ where they could go together.

Deep familial love and solidarity—wanting to accompany the son reflects unwavering attachment and a desire not to abandon him.
