Preparations for Rama’s Coronation
प्रगृह्य शिरसा पात्रीं हविषो विधिवत्तदा।महते दैवतायाज्यं जुहाव ज्वलितेऽनले।।2.6.2।।
pragṛhya śirasā pātrīṃ haviṣo vidhivat tadā |
mahate daivatāyājyaṃ juhāva jvalite 'nale || 2.6.2 ||
そのとき儀礼の法に従い、供物の器を頭上に捧げ持ち、燃え盛る聖なる火にギーを注いで、偉大なる神(ヴィシュヌ)へ供養として捧げた。
On the occasion of Rama's coronation the highway, strewn with flowers and rendered fragrant with the burning of incense by the citizens looked glorious.
Dharma here is fidelity to sacred duty: public acts (like royal consecrations) are grounded in correct ritual conduct and reverence toward the divine order.
Ritual offerings are being performed as part of the preparations connected with Rāma’s installation/royal ceremony in Ayodhyā.
Reverence and rule-following (vidhi) in religious duty—showing that kingship is tied to disciplined, lawful sacred practice.
