लक्ष्मणस्य वनानुगमन-प्रतिज्ञा तथा आयुध-संग्रहः
Lakshmana’s Vow to Follow Rama and the Retrieval of Divine Weapons
अहं प्रदातुमिच्छामि यदिदं मामकं धनम्।ब्राह्मणेभ्यस्तपस्विभ्यस्त्वया सह परन्तप।।।।
ahaṃ pradātum icchāmi yad idaṃ māmakaṃ dhanam | brāhmaṇebhyas tapasvibhyas tvayā saha parantapa ||
私はこの我が財を、苦行のバラモンたちに施したい。お前と共に行おう、敵を屈する者よ。
Let us give away, O tormentor of enemies (Lakshmana) my belogings to the ascetic brahmins.
Dharma is dāna and detachment: before accepting hardship, Rāma chooses to distribute wealth to worthy ascetics, aligning action with righteousness and truthfulness of intent.
As departure nears, Rāma plans charitable giving and asks Lakṣmaṇa to assist.
Rāma’s generosity and renunciant mindset—letting go of possessions without resentment.
