Lakshmana’s Vow to Follow Rama and the Retrieval of Divine Weapons
न स्मरिष्यति कौसल्यां सुमित्रां च सुदुःखिताम्।भरतो राज्यमासाद्य कैकेय्यां पर्यवस्थितः।।।।
na smariṣyati kausalyāṃ sumitrāṃ ca suduḥkhitām |
bharato rājyam āsādya kaikeyyāṃ paryavasthitaḥ || 2.31.14 ||
バラタが王国を得て、カイケーイーを頼みとして安んずるなら、彼はカウサリヤーと、深い悲しみに沈むスミトラーを思い出すこともないだろう。
When Bharata secures the kingdom, his confidence reposed in Kaikeyi he will not bother about the miserable Kausalya and Sumitra.
Dharma includes impartial care for all rightful dependents; political loyalty must not erase remembrance of those who suffer and deserve protection.
Rāma expresses anxiety that Bharata, influenced by Kaikeyī and the new regime, may neglect the other queens.
