Glory of the Kāmodā Sacred Place
यं यं चिंतयते कामं तत्र तीर्थे नरः शुचिः । स्नानमात्रेण लभते तं तमैहिकमंगने ॥ २३ ॥
yaṃ yaṃ ciṃtayate kāmaṃ tatra tīrthe naraḥ śuciḥ | snānamātreṇa labhate taṃ tamaihikamaṃgane || 23 ||
清らかな人がその聖なるティールタにて思い描くいかなる願いも——麗しき女性よ——ただ沐浴するだけで、その世間的な果報をそのまま得る。
Suta (narrating the Tirtha-Mahatmya section of the Uttara-Bhaga)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"adbhuta","secondary_rasa":"bhakti","emotional_journey":"A sweeping assurance is given: mere bathing yields the contemplated desire; the verse ends in confident bestowal of worldly fruition."}
It teaches that a tīrtha is not only a physical place but a dharmic field where purity (śuci) and focused intention (cintana) make even simple bathing a powerful act yielding definite results.
By emphasizing remembrance and inner intention while performing a sacred act, it aligns with bhakti’s principle that sincere mental orientation—along with a simple ritual like snāna—can quickly bear fruit.
Ritual practice (kalpa-oriented conduct) is implied: the efficacy of snāna depends on śauca (purity) and saṅkalpa (intent), showing how correct procedure and mental discipline support religious results.
