Narada (as narrator of the tirtha-mahatmya tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It presents tīrtha-snāna (ritual bathing at a sacred place) performed with śraddhā as both a purifier of embodied suffering (disease) and a direct support for the highest goal—attainment of the eternal Brahman.
The key requirement is śraddhā (faithful reverence). The verse implies that the outer act of bathing becomes spiritually efficacious when paired with inner devotion and trust in the sanctity of the tīrtha.
Kalpa-oriented practice is implied: tīrtha-snāna as a ritual act performed with proper intention (śraddhā). It emphasizes correct observance rather than technical grammar or astrology.
