Kāśī-māhātmya: Avimukta Gaṅgā and the Pañcanada Tīrtha
yatkiṃcidbiṃdutīrthe'tra datvākṣayamavāpnuyāt | ekāmapyāhutiṃ kṛtvā samiddhe'gnau vidhānataḥ || 38 ||
Sūta (narrating the Tīrtha-māhātmya as received in the Purāṇic tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It declares that offerings made at Bindu-tīrtha yield akṣaya (inexhaustible) merit, emphasizing the exceptional sanctity of the tīrtha and the enduring spiritual fruit of even small acts done there.
By valuing even a single properly offered āhuti, the verse supports bhakti-oriented practice where sincerity and correct reverence at a holy place can transform a modest act into lasting spiritual merit.
It highlights ritual procedure (vidhi) for homa—making āhuti into a samiddha (well-kindled) agni—reflecting applied Kalpa (Vedāṅga dealing with ritual rules) and basic śrauta/smārta discipline.
