The Account of Mohinī (Mohinī-kathanam): Ekādaśī Nirṇaya, Daśamī Boundary, and Aruṇodaya

Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: Ekadashi
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"bhakti","emotional_journey":"From precise calendrical caution (tithi ‘piercing’) to a detached, motive-free standard for deciding observance."}
It emphasizes purity of observance: a vrata like Ekādaśī should be kept only when the tithi is not ‘viddhā’ (mixed/contaminated), because correct timing safeguards the spiritual fruit of the vow.
By insisting on disciplined, rule-based Ekādaśī practice—especially by the niṣkāma devotee—it frames bhakti as sincere worship supported by careful adherence to sacred time (kāla).
Jyotiṣa/kalā-nirṇaya: deciding vrata days through tithi-śuddhi (avoiding viddhā) and using sunrise and night-watch (yāma) markers, with reference to nakṣatra (Svātī).
