The Account of Mohinī (Mohinī-kathanam): Ekādaśī Nirṇaya, Daśamī Boundary, and Aruṇodaya
यमसंस्थापनार्थाय वैकुण्ठध्वंसनाय च । पाखण्डानां विवृद्ध्यर्थँ पापसंचनाय च ॥ १६ ॥
yamasaṃsthāpanārthāya vaikuṇṭhadhvaṃsanāya ca | pākhaṇḍānāṃ vivṛddhyarthaṃ pāpasaṃcanāya ca || 16 ||
「(彼らは)ヤマの支配を打ち立て、ヴァイクンタへの道を滅し、パーカンダ—邪説と欺瞞—を増長させ、そして罪を積み重ねるために(そのように行う)のだ。」
Narada (narrative voice; admonitory statement within the Uttara-Bhaga discourse)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"bhayanaka","emotional_journey":"Condemnatory warning: portrays a dark agenda—strengthening Yama’s domain, blocking Vaikuṇṭha, spreading heresy, and accruing sin."}
It warns that certain misleading, anti-dharmic influences push beings toward Yama’s jurisdiction (death and judgment) by blocking the Vaikuṇṭha-oriented path of liberation and increasing sinful tendencies.
By contrast: Vaikuṇṭha symbolizes the goal of Vishnu-bhakti; anything that “destroys Vaikuṇṭha” indicates teachings or conduct that turns one away from devotion, purity, and surrender, leading instead to sin and bondage.
No specific Vedāṅga technique is taught in this verse; it functions as a dharma-warning that correct doctrine and disciplined conduct are essential, otherwise one falls into pāṣaṇḍa (deceptive paths) and pāpa accumulation.
