देयं वेतनमात्रं तु न च तुष्टिफलं भवेत् । यो न तस्मै प्रयच्छेत जीवनं जीवनाय वै ॥ ३७ ॥
deyaṃ vetanamātraṃ tu na ca tuṣṭiphalaṃ bhavet | yo na tasmai prayaccheta jīvanaṃ jīvanāya vai || 37 ||
少なくとも定められた賃金は与えるべきであり、さもなくば満足を与える功徳は生じない。まことに、その人に生計—命を支える命—を施さぬ者は、務めを果たさぬ。
