功徳を積む者の胸に宿る希求へと心を据えた王は、惑わすモーヒニーの姿を見た。迷妄に沈んだ彼は倒れ伏し、モーヒニーの欲望の矢に射抜かれた。
Narada (narrating within the Uttara-Bhaga mahatmya account)
Vrata: none
Rasa: {"primary_rasa":"shringara","secondary_rasa":"bhayanaka","emotional_journey":"Desire intensifies through fixation and vision of Mohinī, then collapses into fearful loss of control as the king falls, struck by the ‘arrow’ of passion."}
It warns that even a powerful ruler can collapse spiritually when the mind fixates on desire; delusion (moha) arises swiftly when one is “pierced” by kāma.
By contrast, it implies that bhakti requires guarding the mind from fascination with captivating forms; devotion stabilizes attention on the divine rather than on desire-driven illusion.
No specific Vedāṅga technique is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is mental discipline aligned with dharma—mastery of attention so that desire does not overpower judgment.
