Sanatkumara (in dialogue addressing Narada)
Vrata: Tvaritā-vrata (Navamī)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
The verse introduces Tvaritā as a power that grants prosperity and “all siddhis,” framing the Navamī observance as a disciplined, repeatable vrata that purifies and empowers the practitioner through Devi-upāsanā.
It presents bhakti in a vrata-form: steady, “nitya” observance directed to a named deity (Tvaritā), where devotion is expressed through regular worship and yields auspiciousness (śivatā) and spiritual attainments.
It relies on calendrical/ritual timing via the lunar tithi (Navamī), a key practical element used in vrata-dharma; correct tithi-based observance is central to Purāṇic ritual instruction.
