It emphasizes disciplined transmission of sacred-historical knowledge—aligning chronology (yuga-division) with authoritative instruction and preserving dharmic memory through accurate recitation of royal lineages.
Indirectly, it supports bhakti by safeguarding the integrity of Purāṇic narration—accurate names and chronology sustain trustworthy accounts of dharma and divine acts that inspire devotion.
It points to Vedāṅga-style precision in textual handling—correct compilation/arrangement and faultless recitation (saṃpaṭha), aligning with disciplines like Vyākaraṇa and traditional methods of preserving lists and names.
