Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It states that ritual effects should be attempted only after mantra-siddhi (attainment of efficacy), and that purity is established through consecrating water with disciplined japa, making the practice both spiritually authorized and ritually sound.
Though technical, it reflects bhakti’s discipline: devotional practice is not casual but done with purity, steadiness, and reverence—first perfecting the mantra, then using it in service-oriented ritual actions.
It highlights prayoga (ritual application) and abhi-mantrita purification, including the precise japa count of 1008—typical of technical Vedic procedure and mantra-śāstra method.
