नारद उवाच । आख्यातं भवता सर्वं मुने तत्त्वार्थ कोविद । इदानीं श्रोतुमिच्छामि युगानां स्थितिलक्षणम् ॥ १ ॥
nārada uvāca | ākhyātaṃ bhavatā sarvaṃ mune tattvārtha kovida | idānīṃ śrotumicchāmi yugānāṃ sthitilakṣaṇam || 1 ||
ナーラダは言った。「おお牟尼よ、真実義(タットヴァ)の趣旨に通じた賢者よ、あなたはすべてを説き明かされた。いま私は、諸ユガの定義となる相と、その定まった推移(期間と状態)を聞きたい。」
