Viṣṇor Māhātmya
jāro'yamiti māṃ tāṃ ca hatavantaḥ prasahya vai | āvāṃ nihatya te sarve nivṛttāḥ purarakṣakāḥ || 37 ||
Narada (narrating a past incident within the discourse)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It highlights how rash accusation and uncontrolled anger lead to grave adharma, producing severe karmic consequences for both the victims and the perpetrators.
Indirectly, it shows the need for inner purity and restraint—qualities that support bhakti—since violence born of suspicion destroys dharma and obstructs spiritual progress.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana, Jyotisha, or Kalpa) is taught in this verse; the takeaway is ethical discipline (dharma) and careful judgment in conduct.
