Vāmana’s Advent, Aditi’s Hymn, Bali’s Gift, and the Mahatmya of Bhū-dāna
आशयादासा ये दासास्ते सर्वलोकस्य । आशा दासी येषां तेषां दासायते लोकः ॥ ५१ ॥
āśayādāsā ye dāsāste sarvalokasya | āśā dāsī yeṣāṃ teṣāṃ dāsāyate lokaḥ || 51 ||
「希望」に縛られて奴となる者は、まことに全世界の僕となる。だが希望そのものを僕とする者には、世界がその僕となる。
Sanatkumāra (teaching Nārada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that inner dependence on expectation (āśā) creates slavery to people and circumstances, while mastery over desire makes one inwardly free—so life and society no longer control one’s peace.
Bhakti becomes steady when one offers results to Bhagavān and drops anxious expectation; then hope no longer rules the mind, and devotion matures into surrender rather than bargaining for outcomes.
No specific Vedāṅga technique is taught here; the practical takeaway is ethical-psychological discipline (vairāgya and self-mastery), which supports correct practice of mantra, ritual intent, and dharmic conduct.
