Adhyaya 62 — The Fire-God Enters the Brahmin Youth; Varuthini’s Love-Sickness and Kali’s Disguise
मानुषे सानुरागेयं तत्र तद्रूपधारिणि ।
रंस्यते मय्यसंदिग्धं किं कालेन करोमि तत् ॥
mānuṣe sānurāgeyaṃ tatra tadrūpadhāriṇi | raṃsyate mayy asaṃdigdhaṃ kiṃ kālena karomi tat ||
私がそこで人としてその姿を取れば、この女は—愛情に満ちて—必ずや私と共に喜ぶであろう。時を待つ(遅らせる)必要がどこにある。

Ākhyāna (didactic narrative) embedded in the Purāṇa; it supports dharma-teaching by portraying the mechanisms of temptation rather than enumerating cosmic genealogies.
‘Assuming human form’ indicates the descent of subtle vice into embodied action—when inner impulse concretizes into behavior. ‘Kāla’ (time) also hints at restraint; refusal to wait is refusal of discipline.
