Adhyaya 56 — The Descent and Fourfold Course of the Ganga; Jambudvipa’s Varshas and Their Conditions
विकीryमाणसलिला निरालम्बा पपात सा ।
मन्दराद्येषु पादेषु प्रविभक्तोदका समम् ॥
vikīryamāṇasalilā nirālambā papāta sā /
mandarādyeṣu pādeṣu pravibhaktodakā samam
その水は飛び散り、支えもなく下方へと落下した。さらにマンダラなどの山々の麓において、彼女の水は等しく分かたれ、別々の流れとなった。
Even when a force appears uncontrolled (‘nirālambā’), cosmic order channels it into balanced distribution—an image of dharma shaping raw power into beneficence.
Sthāna: mapping of terrain and hydrological distribution via sacred mountains.
The ‘division at the mountain-feet’ can symbolize how lofty principles become practicable streams when they reach the ‘base’ level of embodied life.
