Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 22 — Draupadī’s Abduction Attempt and Bhīma’s Suppression of the Kīcakas
ततस्तु द्रौपदी गत्वा तदा भीम॑ महानसे । उपातिष्ठत कल्याणी कौरव्यं पतिमन्तिकम्,तदनन्तर कल्याणस्वरूपा द्रौपदी पाकशालामें अपने पति कुरुनन्दन भीमसेनके पास गयी
tatastu draupadī gatvā tadā bhīmaṁ mahānase | upātiṣṭhata kalyāṇī kauravyaṁ patim antikam ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。すると吉祥なる女ドラウパディーは大きな台所へ赴き、夫であるカウラヴァの血を引く勇者ビー マの傍らに立った。この場面は、潜伏と危難のただ中で彼女が夫に寄り添い頼ること、そして逆境においても夫婦の務めが静かに揺るがず保たれることを示している。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness in dharma during hardship: Draupadī seeks her husband’s presence and protection while maintaining composure and propriety, reflecting loyalty and resilience under concealment and threat.
During the Pāṇḍavas’ incognito stay, Draupadī goes into the palace kitchen and approaches Bhīma, standing close to him—setting up a private moment of counsel and support amid the tensions of their hidden life.
